April 2013 Trip – Fish, Digging for Ponds, and More!

It seems it’s about to happen! Something that we’ve been waiting for about a year.

Monday, I leave for Kenya for 10 days. While there, I’ll be doing business regarding Sundi’s Gift and Child Survival Centre, one of our sister NGO’s (non-governmental organizations). That work will include getting our fish raising project kick-started with actual digging of the first pond. It may not be completed while I’m there, but I’ll get some pictures of what action is happening. We are working with a consultant and hopefully we’ll ink a contract to get this moving. We need a well on the property so I’ll be meeting with a driller to see what the cost would be to do that. That is a necessity if we are not going to haul water to the site – which is pretty costly, given that each pond needs approximately 300,000 liters to fill.

We are projecting our first “catch” will occur late this fall – food for the children of Soweto. Pray that God will grant us success in this life-giving exercise and that we will be become great fishermen, both of Talipia, Catfish, and most of all men, women, boys and girls who need to hear the gospel, parceled out in the form of fish.

Bwana akubariki,
Everett
